Absecon Saltwater Sportsmen

Meeting of June 13, 2011
The meeting of the Absecon Saltwater Sportsmen was called to order by President Jim Van Daley. The club performed the Pledge of Allegiance and a moment of silence for our Military.

Secretary’s Report: The minutes of the May 23, 2011 meeting were approved as read.

Treasurer’s Report: General Account: N/A Charity Account: N/A

Trustee Report: Nothing to report.

G.A.B.T Report: 64 boats entered the bluefish division and an additional 13 boats entered the fluke division. The tournament was a success.

In House Tournament: Second tournament is scheduled for June 25. Call Charlie Elwell at 609-926-3259 to sign up. The cost is $35/tournament. Results from the first tournament:

Open Tournament: Tournament will be held on 3rd Saturday in July. Food and drinks will be available at the Absecon American Legion, where awards will be presented immediately after the tournament. Need words for the American Legion Sign. List of donations were passed out. The beer permit was mailed. Flyers need to be posted around the area.

Sunshine: No report of anyone sick.

Club Picnic: Nothing to report.

Federation: Atlantic County won the shoot.

NJ Marine Fishery: As of 6/16/2011 Ed Goldman is no longer on the committee. The July meeting will not be held in Galloway. A meeting of all councils will be held later in the month near Trenton.

Hooked on Fishing: Around 50 kids participated in the Nuncio Bruno blue fish tournament. The kids had a great time The Day on the Bay event with Field of Dreams will be held the first Monday in August.

Communication: One open tournament entry form was received.

ASWS Web Site: The club Facebook page is up and running. The Club will send a gift to Kerry Miller for all the help she provided to get the Facebook page running.

New Applications: No new applicants.

Unfinished Business: The plans for the family tournament were dropped and will be removed from the calendar.

Installation Diner: Nothing to report.

New Business:
Field of Dreams “Day on the Bay” is scheduled for August 1.

Elections: Nothing to report.

Good of the Order: Nothing to report.
