ASWS 2016 Kerstetter open boat Tournament

June 9, 2016

Absecon Saltwater Sportsmen Club, in conjunction with The Field of Dreams, sponsors the annual “Roy Kerstetter Open Fishing Tournament & BBQ”. This tournament benefits “Special Needs” children. Open to all, Club members or non-members.

Based on a 50-boat entry there will be over $5000 in Cash & Prizes.

The entrance fee is $65 per boat to fish on Saturday, July 16th, 2016 for Summer Flounder (Fluke), Weakfish and Bluefish. The fee includes a T-Shirt for the Captain, weigh-in, BBQ, refreshments, Door Prizes, 50/50 drawing and an Awards Ceremony after the BBQ.

The weigh-in, BBQ and award ceremony will be held at The Absecon American Legion Post #28, New Jersey Ave. & Mill Rd., Absecon, NJ 08201

Entry fees will be due by the Captains’ meeting held at 7PM on Friday, July 15th, also at The Absecon American Legion Post #28. The Tournament flyer is available on the Club’s website, www.abseconsaltwater.com, or please call the Club President, Jim Van Daley (609-748-8208), for further information.

The proceeds from this tournament, and T-shirt advertising sales, enables the Absecon Saltwater Sportsmen to take special needs children, their parent(s), and some siblings, from the Field of Dreams Organization for “A Day On The Bay”. The day of back-bay fishing on the “Fish Finder II” Party Boat, out of Brigantine, is followed by a picnic and awards presentation at the Brigantine Elks Lodge. The more boats that fish this tournament means not only larger prizes, but the more Field of Dreams children we can accommodate. Please help us make this an even more special day for them.

Absecon Saltwater Sportsmen was formed in 1980. Active throughout South Jersey we are dedicated to promoting Sport Fishing, Boating and Conservation issues but most of all Children and Fishing. The Club is a non-profit 501C3 organization and sponsors or volunteers at events such as Kids Hooked on Fishing, Field of Dreams, Nunzio Bruno Kids Bluefish Tournament, Atlantic City Boys and Girls Club surf fishing Tournament, Greater Atlantic Bluefish Tournament, City of Absecon “911” Memorial Fund and many others including the RFA, IGFA and the SSFFF.

Most of all, Club members share a common bond of friendship, family and fun on the water. We’re a small Club with big dreams that get bigger each year, we need your help.
