ABSECON SALTWATER SPORTSMEN
MINUTES
April 10, 2017
The meeting was brought to order by Jim Van Daley, President, with a salute to the flag and a moment of silence for our troops. The minutes of the March 13th meeting were read and approved. The treasurers’ report was read and approved.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
TRUSTEES: No report.
GACF: Ed Goldman reported that a meeting was held on March 15th. Next meeting scheduled for April 19th. They are finalizing the rules for the Striper/Bluefish Tournament.
SUNSHINE: Bob Hagel is out of the nursing home. Jack Hermann had neck surgery.
FEDERATION: The next meeting is Thursday April 13th. Input is needed from hunters regarding deer season and possibly extending doe day to three days.
NJ MARINE FISHERIES: Next meeting will be held Thursday April 13th at the Galloway Library. Meeting starts at 4:00 PM.
HOOKED ON FISHING: Need Volunteers for Patriot Lake on May 13th 7:30 to 11:00 AM. April 22nd is the Field of Dreams first baseball game of the season. Volunteers are needed to put flyers on cars. May 20th is the kids bluefish tournament.
WEBSITE/FACEBOOK: Current website host is ending their support at the end of the year. We will be switching to GoDaddy who is offering two years of free service and $100 a year thereafter.
COMMUNICATIONS: Bank statements and mail, LIBT
MEMBER APPLICATIONS: One new applicant. Gunner Elbertson was approved for membership.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS: “Pay Day for Tax Day” raffle drawing was held. Winners are: 1st Place: Ernest Deman ($1,035), 2nd Place: Dan Bodey, ($414) 3rd Place: Madison DDomenico ($207), 4th Place: Bill Will ($207), 5th Place: Krista Lodilo ($207)
NEW BUSINESS: Joe Ricciardi made a first draft of a sign advertising the open tournament.
Next meeting: Monday, April 24th at 8:00 PM.
