Meeting Notes:  10-11-2021

Joe Ricciardi called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm.  A flag salute and moment of silence was observed.  Ten members were in attendance.

Minutes: The September 20 minutes were read and accepted. 

Greater Atlantic Cancer Fund:  No report. 

Atlantic County Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs: Meeting will be October 14. 

Communications: A bank statement was received.  Charlette Brown (widow of Spence) said she enjoys getting club information.  There was discussion on the club website and Facebook. 

Marine Fisheries: No report.

Tournaments:  No tournaments until next year.  The fishing derbies continue for stripers, blue fish and perch.  A striper entry was received. The fish weighed 8.2 pounds. 

Sunshine:  Harry Walker is home.   

Membership: No new applications. 

Old Business: Joe Ricciardi reported that the channel dredging was continuing and that channel markers were placed to the dredge location. He said that he went through the area ok.  Dredging is expected to continue until waters freeze.  Joe indicated that Ed Goldman and the RFA expedited the channel marking. 

New Business: The club voted to begin all future meetings at 7:30 p.m.  It is anticipated that there will be snacks at the December 13 meeting. The desert plaque was updated to reflect the 2021 winner.

Nominations:  No change in current officers.  Dave Burke indicated he would like to step down but would remain if no one else wanted the position.   

Good of the Order:  Charlie Elwell reported that he had good sea bass fishing on the opening day.  Crabbing has been good.  John Reese reported that he had a good day perch fishing including catching a 14.5 incher.  Dave Roesch reported that there was excellent striper fishing in the Mullica River.  Lou Schott reported that the NJOA shoot at Red Wings Sporting Clays was a big success.  More than 100 people signed up to shoot.  John Reese encouraged members to support the Egg Harbor City Legion breakfast on the coming weekend.

Joe Ricciardi called the meeting to order at 8:00 PM.  After the flag salute, a moment of silence was observed for deceased members & first responders.

Minutes: The minutes of the September 13 meeting were read and accepted.

Greater Atlantic Cancer Fund:  No report.

Atlantic County Federation of Sportsmen’s Club:  Dave Burke reported about the Tech Center regarding deer hunting on the property.  He also brought up that the NJOA would be having a fund raiser shoot at Red Wing on October 9.  Besides the shoot there are raffles and 50/50.

Communications:    No report.

Marine Fisheries:     Had a meeting last week.

Tournaments:           No report.

Sunshine:                   No report of anyone sick.

Membership:            No new applications.

Old Business:           Joe Ricciardi reported about the dredging, Joe sent an email to coastal engineering to request buoys or stakes be placed where it had been dredged.  It is still extremely difficult to navigate the channel.

New Business:           No report.

Website and Facebook: Lou read the email he received from Bob Cusack regarding the cost of the website.  We are currently paying $179.88 per year.  Joe indicated he would check on pricing the cost of the website since he does not pay that much for his store. The bill for our website is not due until April 2022.

Good of the Order:        No report   

Next Meeting will be October 11 at 7:30 PM at the Absecon American Legion Hall.
