Absecon Saltwater Sportsmen

Meeting of January 10, 2011
The meeting of the Absecon Saltwater Sportsmen was called to order called to order by Vice President Ed Goldman. The club performed the Pledge of Allegiance and a moment of silence for our Military.

Secretary’s Report: The minutes of December 13, 2010 were approved as read.

Treasurer’s Report: General Account: N/A Charity Account: N/A

Trustee Report: None, meet in February.

G.A.B.T Report: G.A.B.T meeting on January 19, 2011. AC Boat show on February 3-6.

Sunshine: No report of anyone sick.

Communications:

The club voted to not support the Terra-Scapes letter to ban long line fishing. Bob will reply to the email request.

Received email from Palmyra Fire department announcing its 14th Annual Fisherman’s flee market on February 13, 2011. Members should try and attend this event.

Club Picnic: Nothing to report.

Installation Diner: February 18, 2011 at the Crab Trap. Menu has been arranged. Flyers are being prepared and will be mailed (letter and email) soon.

Open Tournament: Nothing to report.

Federation: Venison dinner is scheduled for February 21, 2011. Club has 10 tickets for the dinner @ $30 each.

NJ Marine Fishery:

Free saltwater registry passed in Senate, waiting for Governor to sign.

Members are encouraged to Fax or Email Governor to and let him know if they are for or against the registry bill.

No decision yet on summer flounder season and limits. Possibly 2 weeks longer on both ends and 17 inch limit.

Unfinished Business:

Need to order Plaques from Shopie, Tee Shirts

Members need to pick up raffle tickets to sell. The drawing is April 10, 2011.

Charlie took the action to generate a 2011 event calendar.

Gettheskunk.com wants to post the clubs open fishing tournament.

Carl turned over all club property in his possession to Bob at the meeting.

New Business:

Joe and Ed will contact Bass Barn.

Charlie will mail out the club dues bills.

Elections:Nothing to report.
