Absecon Saltwater Sportsmen

Meeting of April 9, 2012

The meeting of the Absecon Saltwater Sportsmen was called to order by President Jim Van Daley. The club performed the Pledge of Allegiance and a moment of silence for our Military.

Secretary’s Report:The minutes of the March 12, 2012 meeting were approved as read.

Treasurer’s Report: General Account: N/A Charity Account: N/A

Trustee Report: Nothing to report.

G.A.B.T Report: There were 12 applicants for the GABT scholarship. Folks are working on the upcoming tournament on July 2. T-Shirts are on order. Need volunteers to help on tournament.

In House Tournament: The first in-house will be on May 2. Need help because Jack and Janet will not be there. Please note the new rules.

Open Tournament: The open tournament will be held the third Saturday of July (7/21). Cost is $65/boat. After tournament picnic will be out back of the hall. Need a flyer to post around the neighborhoods.

Sunshine: Bob Hagel has been sick.

Club Picnic:Will be held the first Sunday after Labor Day(Sept 9, 2012).

Federation:There was a youth shoot on 3/17, where 91 kids attended and all enjoyed the day.

NJ Marine Fisheries: Ed may return to Mid Atlantic council.

Field of Dreams:Nothing to report.

Hooked on Fishing: To be held May 12 at patriot lake. Need some volunteers to help.

Web Site & Facebook:Nothing to report.

Communication:Need to send sponsorship money to GABT.

New Applications: Two new possible applicants were at the meeting.

Unfinished Business:Next meeting will be help at Brigantine VFW. Open house for new members will be May 14. Need to update the discount list to members. Need to change date on ATV. Bob will work with Lisa.
Installation Dinner:Nothing to report..
