FEDERATION: No report.

NJ MARINE FISHERIES: A meeting was held October 4-5 at Seaview Country Club and it was open to the public. There was continuing discussion about placement or removal of commercial sea bass pots from the artificial reefs. Because of continuing controversy, the issue is being put out for public comment.

Sargeant at Arms: Shawn Van Daley; Treasurer: Charles Elwell; Secretary: Bob Cusack; Vice President: Lou Schott; President: Jim Van Daley. For the record, nominations are still open for anyone wishing to compete for an office.

GOOD OF THE ORDER: There was discussion to place “Good of the Order” back into the minutes as it usually contains the lighter side of club information. The “Shep on Fishing” radio show on Saturday, October 8 interviewed Paul Stonerod. Part of the discussion concerned the fluke reduced quota for 2017. Shepard also interviewed Dave Showell, who mainly spoke about local striper fishing.
