ABSECON SALTWATER SPORTSMEN
MINUTES
July 9, 2017
The meeting was brought to order by President, Jim Van Daley with a salute to the flag and a moment of silence for our troops. The minutes of the June 25 meeting were read and approved. The treasurer’s report were read and approved.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
TRUSTEES: No report.
GACF: Joe reported that 23 boats entered the tournament. The food afterwards was good and everyone had a good time. There was a Chinse auction.
TOURNAMENTS: Door prizes are coming in for the open tournament; need to add Smithville Barber shop. We will be cooking our own corn at the BBQ afterwards. Still need to finalize with Pitney Pub. Plan to have a prize for the non-winners. Need to make sure we get the ASWS Logo added to the Sunshine foundation Add book next year. Next In-house is July 21.
SUNSHINE: Elmer Fredd’s daughter passed. Jack Petro passed and Lou sent Janet a card
FEDERATION: The Federation newsletter had the Kids Bluefish tournament and our open tournament listed.
NJ MARINE FISHERIES: No report.
HOOKED ON FISHING: No report.
WEBSITE/FACEBOOK: Need to post kids bluefish tournament.
COMMUNICATIONS: Received bank statements and some open entry fees.
MEMBER APPLICATIONS: No new applications.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS: Elks Club is set for the FOD kids fishing BBQ.
NEW BUSINESS: GABT has two Phillies tickets on July 25, which is raffling.
GOOD OF THE ORDER: Joe caught a fish. Lou and Charlie may also have caught some fish.
Next meeting: Monday, July 23 at 8:00 PM.
